FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS @ 2°55': 23 MAY, 11:53 PM AEST | 24 MAY 1:53 AM NZST | 23 MAY, 3:53 PM CEST | 23 MAY, 6:53 AM PT | 23 MA7, 9:53 AM ET

Features: host Jupiter is conjunct Venus at the anaretic degree of Taurus. Sun trine Pluto, Moon sextile Pluto. Jupiter & Venus sextile Neptune.

This lunation illuminates the end of Jupiter’s stay in Taurus & a new chapter about to unfold with Jupiter entering Gemini on the 26th of May (AEST).

Our Lady Moon is rose full, hot and buttered in the early degrees of the fiery Archer. Host Jupiter is conjoined with Venus at the 29th degree of Taurus (the final, fateful anaretic degree).

Venus in Her earthy Pleasure Garden of Taurus offers Jupiter a final blessing for what will be His last moments here before heading into Gemini for 12 months. It’s a voluptuous long kiss goodbye - offering extra support to this visionary and blessed lunation.

Yet this embrace between benefics is hidden from our Luminaries, taking place beneath a shady arbour in a Mars-ruled corner of the Taurean garden. Mars in Aries adds a dash of peppery urgency and forthrightness to the mix as He strides closer to the degree of the solar eclipse, and to Chiron. We may feel the dust of the Eclipse themes stirring.

The slightly hidden nature of the Venus and Jup cuddle-up is enhanced by Neptune in a glamouring sextile to them. So may not experience a big, blousy Venusian gift, or the blessings may emerge later - with a seasoning of well-cured wisdom. Baked into it all is Jupiter’s conjunction last month with Uranus - a theme that will be revisited when Venus conjoins with Uranus in July next year at this same 29 degrees of Taurus.

But back to the present…

Sagittarius is our most wild and feral philosopher. The archer’s arrow is fuelled by faith, optimism and a future-oriented vision. A Full Moon in the Archer is both a high tide and wider perspective, illuminating the wisdom & abundance that Jupiter has seeded and cultivated throughout His year in Taurus.

This Full Moon (& the days following) offers an opportunity to review and lean into what Jupiter in Taurus has given us.

In which of your Houses (by whole sign rising sign) is your lush patch of Taurus land located? What goodness and sense of stability do you want to continue growing & tending there? Have you redefined what wealth and abundance means to you since Jupiter first arrived in Taurus in May of ‘23? Has steady Taurus helped you to savour the moments, and enjoy the process of getting there, not just the arrival.

Now with the Sun alighting in Gemini we’ve entered Mercury’s brilliant diamond Season, and Jupiter’s cycle is also complete. This ending points to a new chapter in the mutable Air sign of the Twins where we’ll experience high-velocity intel, sociability & lightning speed connections. Jupiter in Gemini will be an accelerated and scattered kind of wisdom. We’ll likely see a proliferation of ideas as well as a genuine curiosity and openness to new & diverse forms.

Pluto also imprints his Underworld agenda upon the The Twins, aiding and abetting the Sun’s narrative arc in Gemini with a helpful trine.

A sextile between the Moon in Sag (in the bounds of Mercury no less) & Pluto suggests power to the (especially young) people who are urging for a wilder, wiser, more hopeful, just & cohesive vision for the future. Here are clues to the flavour of what we might see with Jupiter’s imminent ingress into Gemini and a potent Air alliance with Hades in Aquarius.

Jupiter in Gemini may require us to shake off any earth-bound stuck-ness, take flight & infuse our synapses with a proliferation of high-octane possibility and exciting connections. It’s like a swarm of bees leaving the hive and visiting a multitude of wildflowers in a meadow, collecting pollen from them all. However, after the initial buzz we may also want to cultivate the wisdom and discernment of a wider view - especially as we wade through the space-junk of the Attention Economy.

We may see big platform social media inflate to bursting point, or moving closer towards its demise (in its current form); devolving further into dogma, division & hair-splitting semantics. Fact and fiction, real and fake, truth and lies are themes populating the hall of mirrors in the domain of the trickster Twins.

Gemini engages with it all, & is not afraid to go where angels fear to tread. Jupiter will try to create unity and cohesiveness, seeking alternative pathways; and with Pluto exposing what lies beneath, we may see more of where the rot of injustice dwells and democracy fails.

With Pluto pulling the strings in Aquarius we may feel the (over)reach of our technocratic puppet masters and their attempts to steal us away from more humanly nourishing and enlivening sources of truth, inspiration, beauty and delight.

But if we hold close to us and recall the embodied lessons of Jupiter in Taurus, as well as cultivate discernment we may eventually be able to sift through the detritus. We may derive more value from learning when to switch off & unplug, as well as enjoy and engage in the excitement and (over)stimulation that our jolly ol’ giant, gaseous Jove generously provides in Gemini.

This lunation is for dream-weaving & vision-questing…

What, who and where do you want to give your attention? What truly inspires you and your hopeful sense of purpose in the world? What wild wisdom can your body and nervous system draw upon as life speeds up?

Happy Full Moon, and may your dreams be filled with hope and wonder.
